THE PROJECT
The success of an Acoustic Shell for Orchestra depends
on the skilful mix of many important factors and variables:
from the correct positioning of the wooden elements which
have different mass, dimensions and geometries; from the
volume of the space enclosed in the Acoustic Shell on
the stage and from the interaction with the shell below;
from the distance and precise adjustment between:
o the ceiling-panels and the sound source,
o between the three side walls,
o between the back wall and the conductor's podium, and
so forth ...
This brief description of just a few of the main variables,
indispensable in the design phase, gives an indication of
just how complex it is to tune such a sophisticated Instrument.
Naturally, the material used for construction of a normal
Acoustic Shell for Orchestra is mainly the fireproof
wood.
For the structure illustrated here, the pre-selected wood
is plywood, entirely special even in its make up, completely
fireproof.
This Acoustic Shell for Orchestra was conceived with highly
modular characteristics, is destined to voice, in optimum
conditions, any environment which is acoustically lacking
for Symphony or Chamber Music performances. Its specifications,
together with great flexibility, make it possible to take
maximum advantage of every note from the sound response
