THE
ACOUSTIC SHELL FOR ORCHESTRA : WHAT IS
The Acoustic Shell for Orchestra is a scenic container
made of special wood, formed of four modular surfaces which
enclose the stage, which represents the fifth resounding
surface.
The function of the Acoustic Shell is to maximize and optimize
the sound produced inside of it, facilitate the reciprocal
listening between the musicians and the conductor, at the
same time appropriately conveying the music toward the audience.
The Acoustic Shell for Orchestra can be defined as an instrumental
asset since, varying the configuration each time in relation
to the stage, the hall and the orchestral body, its sound
characteristics and performance is varied and refined.
A sort of musical instrument itself, in any case, constructed
for the purpose of obtaining interaction between the surfaces
which make it up and the sound waves and frequencies, taking
advantage of the response/effect in the purest quality of
the sound.
Previously we defined the Acoustic Shell for Orchestra
as a true musical instrument. This attribution allows us
to highlight the recording possibilities which it possesses
and in fact, as such, once installed it is possible to draw
out the sound waves with tangible precision.
The possibility of adjusting the Acoustic Shell during
the Orchestra practice phase guarantees maximum quality
of the acoustic response in any environment.
